I’m honestly not sure how Jared and I started this.
I *think* we were talking about all of the places we wanted to go and see with each other. I’m going to go with that.
Anyways.
For the past two years, Jared and I have each written down five different places that we want to visit together. He then draws one of mine and vice versa.
Last year, we visited Chicago in May (his choice) and Savannah in October (my choice).
We spend a long weekend being tourists, reconnecting, and just enjoying the shit out of each other.
We also end up seeing places domestically that we probably wouldn’t otherwise. I want to see and do it all. Doing it with my best friend makes it that much better.
We visited Minneapolis in May this year and I was completely blown away by how much we enjoyed the city. I’ll share what we did and my recommendations later!
Seriously. Date your spouse/partner/significant other. This is what works for US. We like to take these trips and we’re fortunate to be able to so with our jobs and children commitments. Do what works for YOU. Take the staycation. Go on a date night. Have a movie date on Netflix while the kids are in the other room.
This, however, is my favorite thing that we do. We haven’t been to New Orleans yet (booked for October) but I already can’t wait to see what we land on next year!
